Zhengzhou Municipal Intermediate People's Court, in Henan Province, convened a meeting to try 14 alleged criminals involved in five robbery cases, including an "Amway" robbery case.
The court sentenced six alleged robbers to death or death with reprieve, including Yang Junchao and Chen Shejie for involvement in the "Amway" robbery case.
In January 2002, Yang, Chen, and others reportedly robbed 918,500 yuan from the "Amway" Company using explosives.
On 8 April 2002, in its initial trial, Zhengzhou Municipal Intermediate People's Court sentenced Yang and Chen to death.
