Courts in Beijing, Zhuzhou, Qingdao and Shijiazhuang executed Cao Yufei, Tang Tianhe, Li Tianping and Xu Ailing for financial fraud, with the approval of China People's Supreme Court,From June 1997 to July 1998, Cao Yufei, chairman of Beijing Xindongya Investment Consultancy Co, purchased three companies. He reportedly colluded with others to offer high interest rates to obtain 500m yuan from 4,100 clients. From 1992 to April 1996, Tang Tianhe, a worker of Zhuzhou Shifeng Automobile Part Plant, offered high interest rates to obtain 6.3m yuan in deposits. From August 1996 to February 1997, Li Tianping, a Yuncheng (Shanxi Province) vagrant, reportedly produced false bank drafts to swindle 15m yuan from banks. In September 1997, Xu Ailing, a private trader from Shijiazhuang City, reportedly offered high interest rates to obtain 10m yuan. Xu used false checks to transfer the money into other accounts.
