Delays in Timothy McVeigh's execution should stop, a majority of Chicago area residents said in a survey taken Thursday

Delays in Timothy McVeigh's execution should stop, a majority of Chicago area residents said in a survey taken Thursday. In a CBS 2/Sun-Times poll, 63 % of respondents said they believe Oklahoma City bomber McVeigh should be put to death June 11, the scheduled execution date. 32 % said the execution should be delayed. The majority of those surveyed also supported the death penalty. 61 % said they supported the death penalty, and 31 percent said they did not. The survey of 500 Chicago area residents was conducted by Survey USA.
