Derek Rocco Barnabei, 33, white, was executed by lethal injection in Greensville Correctional Center, Jarrat. He was pronounced dead at 21:06. He had been accused of raping and killing Sarah Wisnosky, 17, white, on 22nd September, 1993. He was the sixth person to be executed in the State during the year, the 79th since the State resumed executions in 1982. He was the 68th to be put to death in the U.S. during the year and No 666 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
