Russel Burket, 32, white, was put to death by lethal injection in Greensville Correctional Center. He had been accused of killing Katherine Tefalski and her five year old daughter Ashley in 1993. He was the fifth person to be executed in the State during the year, the 78th since the State resumed executions in 1982. He was the 66th to be put to death in the U.S. during the year and No 664 since the death penalty was re-introduced in 1976.
