Dion Athanasius Smallwood, 31, was pronounced dead at 9:09 p.m. after receiving a lethal dose of drugs in the death chamber at Oklahoma State Penitentiary. Smallwood was convicted of murdering Lois Frederick, 68, on the afternoon of Feb. 5, 1992. "To the victims of this case, if you didn't hear me before, hear me now. I'm sorry. This (execution) doesn't change anything. It just creates more victims. I am truly sorry," Smallwood said. He then told his family he truly loved them. "I'll be waiting for y'all on the other side."
