District and Session Judge Muhammad Haneef Khan awarded the death penalty to a man known as Ladhu for the murder of Mureed Kazim in September 2002. Another accused, Bilqees Bibi, was sentenced to life imprisonment in the same case. The court ordered both the accused to pay as compensation the amount of Rs. 50,000 to each of the legal heirs of the deceased.
