Du Huikai, Dai Yingqiang, and Shi Xiaoqiang were sentenced...

Du Huikai, Dai Yingqiang, and Shi Xiaoqiang were sentenced to death by the Luoyang Intermediate People's Court for kidnapping, murder and robbery. The court investigation showed that the three had made a kidnapping on 20 June 2003 and asked for ransom money totalling 3m yuan (about 360,000 US dollars) . They killed the hostage on June 28 after receiving only 880,000 yuan (some 110,000 US dollars). According to the court, the three were involved in another kidnapping on the evening of 1 February, 2002, though they later released the hostage. They were also convicted of looting a minibus in western part of central Henan province on 22 June 1999.
