Eleven prison officers appeared in a Nairobi Court charged with the murder of six inmates at Nyeri prison, popularly known as King'ong'o.
The slain inmates were death row prisoners who had filed appeals against their conviction and sentence.
If found guilty of murder, the prison officers will face a mandatory death sentence.
