Five persons were sentenced to death by a local court in India, for murdering a man, his daughter and another person at a village near Meerut in 1999.Fast Track court judge Brijendra Singh awarded the capital punishment to convicts Surendra, Chandra Pal, Indra Pal, Jaiveer and Aman Singh.However, four of their accomplices were acquitted by the court. Another accused Tejpal died during the course of the trial.According to the prosecution, the accused persons fired indiscriminately in Lalpur village killing Hari Singh, his daughter Geeta, and Ajab Singh on the spot and injured three others.
