Four men convicted of murder, armed robbery and assault were executed in Jinan, the capital of northern Shandong province. The executions took place after a "strike hard" sentencing rally where the police announced the conviction of 50 criminals linked to 27 recent violent crimes. "The Jinan public security bureau supports the 'strike hard' campaign against crime policy and at the same time will break a large number of big crimes with an odious influence," Xinhua news agency said.
