Gilberto Guadalupa Reyes, 33, was executed for the March 12, 1998 rape and killing of his former girl friend, 19-year-old Yvette Barraz. He was pronounced dead at 6:17 p.m. DNA evidence from Reyes was found on the victim's clothing. A Bailey County jury took 2 hours before deciding on the death penalty.
