Gov. Rick Perry, in the wake of the terrorist attacks, issued a 30-day reprieve to halt the scheduled Tuesday night execution of Jeffery Tucker. "This reprieve is granted due to the tragedy that has occurred in Washington, D.C., and New York and the extraordinary circumstances under which the U.S. Supreme Court has been closed," Mr. Perry said. "My decision to grant the reprieve was made to ensure that Jeffery Eugene Tucker has full and complete access to the court system and to ensure that justice is served," he said.
