Hassan Ramadhan Mahmoud, a shoe-shiner, and his cousin Ramadhan Mohammed Abu el-Magd Azab were sentenced to death after being found guilty of killing Mahmoud's wife's four-year-old daughter from her first marriage. The victim had allegedly urinated on the sofa as they watched football on television.
As punishment for interrupting the match, the child was given electric shocks, beaten to death and had both legs chopped off, police said in the southern town of Luxor.
Her remains were thrown into a plastic bag and fed to the dogs, creating a melee which drew the attention of passers-by who called the police.
