Hazrat Ali Bhuti, Liton Sarder and Md Kamal were sentenced to death by a court in Dhaka, Bangladesh, for the murder of CID inspector Nazrul Islam.
According to the prosecution, on July 26, 2002, the convicts ambushed Islam, 35, and stabbed him repeatedly. They also snatched his pistol, mobile phone and cash. Islam died later in hospital.
