Following the introduction of Speedy Trial Tribunals by the government, a total of 336 cases had been seen to resulting in 166 death sentences, Justice and Parliament Affairs Minister Barrister Moudud Ahmed said while addressing a seminar on the 'NGOs role in creating mass awareness about different aspects of laws'. Speaking as the chief guest at the daylong seminar, organized by Bangladesh Law Association under the Legal and Judicial Capacity Building Project, Moudud Ahmed said that the Tribunals had an over 70 % conviction rate.
