Hoang Thi Dan, a 46 year old woman convicted of drug trafficking, was sentenced to death by the People's Court in Hai Phong city, northern Vietnam, for illegally transporting and trafficking drugs. The court also gave a life sentence to her husband, Nguyen The Manh, 47, while seven other members of the gang received jail terms ranging from three to 20 years. The network was busted in December 2002 and found guilty of trafficking heroin from other provinces to be sold in Hai Phong.
