HOC General Secretary Sergio D'Elia requested Italian authorities to ensure that Jury Angione, the Italian national risking the firing squad for drug charges in Indonesia, gets all the consular assistance necessary, and said the association is informing other European governments about the case. "Hands Off Cain, through its daily e-newsletter, is informing the heads of human rights departments in European capitals, and also the main non-governmental organisations in the field. "HOC will closely follow developments and meantime appeals to the Italian Foreign Ministry to intervene with the Indonesian authorities to ensure that Angione is getting all the necessary assistance.
