in a Houston courtroom today a Harris County jury sentenced Dexter Johnson, 19, black, to death for the capital murder of Maria Aparece, 23. Evidence presented to the jury showed that Johnson was 1 of 5 people who carjacked Aparece and her boyfriend, Huy Ngo, 17, on June 18th, 2005. Johnson raped Aparece, and then shot and killed them. Timothy Randle, 19, Alvie Butler, 25, Keithron Fields, 27, and Ashley Ervin, 17, were also arrested and charged with capital murder in connection with the killings. Johnson, Fields and Ervin were also charged in connection with Brady Davis' death on May 26, 2006. Davis was robbed, shot and killed at a northeast Houston car wash.
