the Malaysian High Court sentenced a truck driver to death for the brutal massacre of his wife's family at their farm house in Benut, Pontian, 10 years ago. Judge Datuk Abdul Kadir Musa convicted Khasiran, of Kampung Parit Wagiman, in Benut, Pontian, of the murder of Ridlian Mansor, 55, Rosnah Asari, 48, and their children Hamsah, 20, and Mohd Azizul, 8. Hamsah's body was found semi-nude, she was believed to have been raped and strangled. Khasiran was initially charged with the killings on June 15, 1998. He was given a discharge not amounting to an acquittal on Oct 9 the same year, on the application of the prosecution, as investigation papers were incomplete. However, he was charged again on Dec 8 the same year with the murders.
