In Bakersfield, Larry Kusuth Hazlett Jr

In Bakersfield, Larry Kusuth Hazlett Jr., convicted of raping and strangling a woman, has been sentenced to death in a Kern County court. The judge today affirmed the jury's recommendation for death for Larry Hazlett Junior in the October 1978 killing of Tana Woolley. The case remained unsolved until 2002, when police used new technology and DNA evidence to link Hazlett to the crime. (see also June 23)
