in Chapainawabganj, Bangladesh, District and Sessions Judge Rhishikesh Saha sentenced three people to death for killing a twelve year old boy. The condemned convicts are Alam, 25, Tito, 30, and Babu, 20, of Baroghoria and Maharajpur in the Sadar upazila district. They were present in the dock when the judge pronounced the judgement. According to the prosecution, Alam demanded Tk 2 lakh from his expatriate uncle Mahatab Uddin for going to abroad. When refused, Alam and his associates hacked Mahatab Uddin’s son Sumon, 12, to death on October 2, 2006.
