In Columbia, at the Capital Punishment Facility at Broad River Correctional Institution, James Neil Tucker, 47, was executed for the deaths of Rosa Lee Oakley and Shannon Mellon, in 1992. He coiuld have opted for lethal injection, but choosed the electic chair: "I don't want the easy way out", he said in a statement. Tucker becomes the 4th condemned inmate to be put to death in South Carolina this year and the 27th in the USA.
