In its final trial, railway transport courts in Chengdu, Sichuan Province, and Guiyang, Guizhou Province, sentenced five alleged drug traffickers, including Liu Quanyu (0491 0356 3768), Yang Fen (2799 5358), female, Zhang Xiaohui (1728 1420 2585), Ma Lianhe (7802 6647 0678) and Huang Gangsen (7806 0474 2773) to death.
The Guizhou Daily reported that on 27 June 2001, Huang allegedly transported 386 g of heroin, intending to sell the drugs in Hangzhou City. Passenger police caught him on a train from Chongqing to Hangzhou.
On 28 June 2001, Ma allegedly bought 1.95 kg of morphine and 19.7 g of heroin in Guiyang city and was arrested by passenger police on a train to Beijing city. Liu and Yang paid 30,000 yuan to buy heroin, the paper reported.
On 21 November 2001, Yang reportedly bought 1.04 kg of heroin in Burma. She allegedly carried 349 g of heroin and Liu and Zhang carried 694 g of heroin. They took a train from Kunming to Chongqing, allegedly intending to sell the drugs in Xian, the paper reported.
