In November, the People's Court in the central province of Nghe An gave death sentences to 3 drug traffickers, including Xong Ra Long, Xong Gia Cua and Lu Nhia Vu. The 3 were involved in the trafficking of 9 cakes of heroin from Laos, which was discovered in March. The Ho Chi Minh City People's Court also passed a death sentence on Bui Thi Than Huong for heroin trafficking. Huong was arrested in the City last September with over 213g of the drug.
