in Waynesboro, aBurke County jury decided Willie Palmer should die for the Sept. 10, 1995 killing of his wife, Brenda Palmer, and of her 15-year-old daughter, Christine Jenkins. Palmer had already been sentenced to death for the same crime, but the conviction and death penalty was later thrown out by Superior Court Judge John Lee Parrott (see April 4, 2005) and by the Georgia Supreme Court (see November 7, 2005) because prosecutors hid a $500 payoff to the state's key trial witness.
Judge William Fleming will officially sentence Palmer at a later date.
