INDIA: 3 GET DEATH SENTENCE FOR MURDER

in India, Magistrate Shrikanth Babuladi of the Kodagu District and Sessions Court sentenced three men to death a murder committed on February 7, 2002. The accused and the victim were natives of Gonikoppal. Gopinath, the owner of Prashanth Jewellers, was carrying 750 grams of gold, 250 grams of silver and Rs 20,000 to Mysore. A friend, Manojkumar, and his workers Rafiq and Janardan strangled him using a nylon rope in the Kolgat area. They stole the gold and silver and dumped the body in an open well.
