The incident occurred on May 31, 2005, at Kabirali Kadamguri village in Udalguri district.
The convict killed his neighbour Nelson Daimary and his wife Bimala Daimary with an axe on a village road. Both victims died on the spot. In a statement before the judge, Niranjan, said he was suffering from headaches and suspected that Nelson had cast a magical spell on him.
