INDIA: DEATH ROW CONVICTS WITHDRAW PLEA

10 people sentenced to death for their involvement in church blasts in several places in Karnataka and Andhra Pradesh in India, withdrew their habeas corpus petition in which they had said death is better than solitary confinement. Syed Mohammad Ibrahim, Syed Hasannzma, Abdul Rehman Sait, Amanath Hussein Mulla, Syed Muneeruddin Mulla, Mohammad Akhil Ahmed, Izhar Baig, Syed Abbas Ali, Mohammad Sharfuddin and Mohammad Khan Choudary, residents of Hyderabad, were sentenced to death by a Bangalore court in 2008.
