INDIA: DEATH SENTENCE FOR EUNUCH MURDER

a contract killer who shot a eunuch inside the Tis Hazari Court premises, six years ago, was awarded the death sentence by a sessions court in India. Shree Gopal alias Mani Gopal, 34, was sentenced to death while Geeta Hazi, a eunuch, and Mordhwaj, who allegedly hired Gopal to carry out the killing, were acquitted for lack of evidence. Neelam, a key witness in a murder case of another eunuch was shot dead in the court premises by Gopal on April 28, 2003. Gopal was also fined Rs 6,000.
