the Zambian Supreme Court upheld the conviction and death sentence of a poacher who shot a Zambia Wildlife Authority (ZAWA) game ranger who later died. Chinyenga Muyenga, 59, appealed against a Lusaka High Court judgment in which he was convicted for murder on November 4, 2007. Supreme Court judges Sandson Silomba and Marvin Mwanamwambwa, sitting in Ndola, upheld Muyenga’s conviction for murder and the death sentence.
On July 5, 2005, Muyenga and his colleague murdered Evaristo Kamiza in Chongwe.
