INDIA: FATHER-IN-LAW GETS DEATH

in Thrissur, India, District and Sessions Judge B Kemal Pasha sentenced Mammikutty, 60, to hang for murder. His daughter in law Maimoona, 27, was hacked to death on October 3, 2007, in her husband’s residence at Varavoor in the district. The prosecution alleged that Maimoona’s age was higher than what was said at the marriage and therefore Mamikutty and his family demanded more dowry.
