INDIA. MAN SENTENCED TO DEATH AFTER 27 DAYS TRIAL

following a 27 day trial, the Buxar district and sessions court, India, sentenced Arbind Dubey alias Gandhi to death and handed down a sentence of life imprisonment to accomplice Dhuman Yadav for kidnapping and killing 11-year-old Ravi Kumar. The boy was distantly related to Dubey and was kidnapped for a ransom of Rs 2 lakh. Ravi was kidnapped from Gajadharganj in Buxar on June 19, 2006. The police recovered the boy's skeleton and schoolbag from Chausa village after the duo confessed to their crime.
