Justices Arijit Pasayat and Mukundakam Sharma of the Indian Supreme Court sentenced six convicts to death for the murder of five family members on June 5, 2003. The Trambak family was robbed of their valuables by the men, who then raped the wife and the 15 year old daughter and killed five of the family’s six members. The justices not only confirmed the Bombay High Court decision to award death sentence to three, but also enhanced life imprisonment of the other three to death penalty.
