a local court in Sonepat, India, sentenced three members of a family to death in a triple murder case. Additional Sessions Judge A. K. Vimal sentenced Balbir Singh and his two sons, Krishan and Ranjit, of Anwali village to death and fined them 5,000 Rupees each. The Court acquitted two women involved in the case. It was alleged that Balbir, Krishan and Ranjit attacked Lakhan and his sons Mahinder, Suresh and Satbir of the same village while they were working in their fields on December 1, 2001. As a result of the attack, Lakhan and Mahinder died on the spot whereas Suresh succumbed to his injuries later in hospital.
