Interior Minister Designate Monika Lamperth is not considering the idea of re-introducing death penalty raised by outgoing Prime Minister Viktor Orban. In her view, an effective fight against crime is the target. she said that a mere increase in penalties was not expedient, thus she was not dealing with the a possible re-introduction of death penalty either.
However, potential culprits must feel that they would be caught by the police, that is to say, the success rate of finding the perpetrators should be improved instead, the minister candidate said.
