(May 6, 2023) - Asghar Samiei and Tahmaseb Kavousi executed in Zanjan on May 6. According to IHR, two men were executed in Zanjan Central Prison on 6 May. Their identities have been established as Asghar Samiei and Tahmaseb Kavousi.
They were sentenced to death for drug-related charges by the Revolutionary Court. Informed sources told IHR that they had both been on death row for around three years.
There is no news about the fate of two other prisoners who were transferred for execution along with the men.
At the time of writing, their executions have not been reported inside Iran.
