IRAN. MORE EXECUTIONS IN ESFAHAN

The Islamic regime has executed two individuals under charges of "Banditism" and "Kidnapping" in the City of Esfahan, Student Movement Coordination Committee for Democracy in Iran (SMCCDI) reported.
These two new victims were named "Mehdi Yazdani" and "Navab Davoodi" aged 20 and 18.Official sources stated that the two executed were part of a band named "Evil".
Several other individuals were hanged last week in several Iranian cities.Murder, armed robbery, rape, apostasy and serious drug trafficking are all punishable by death in Iran.
Hands Off Cain registered at least 154 executions in the country last year and at least 316 executions in 2002. Iran is governed by an authoritarian regime with a legal system based on Islamic principles. Its official methods of execution are by hanging, stoning and shooting, although those condemned to capital crimes are most often hanged in public from a crane.
