Seven men condemned to death by a district court in Bangladesh were acquitted the country's High Court in Dhaka. Those acquitted were Mizanur Rahman, Ohidul Islam, Zulfiqar Ali, Abdul Wahab, Azgar Ali, Ismail Hossain and Rabiul Islam of Haibat village in Kaliganj upazila in Jhenidah district. They were known as extremists of the underground sarbohara party. They had been sentenced to death by an Additional district and Sessions court in Jhenidah on November 12, 2002, after being found guilty of murdering one Abul Hossain.
