Salar Rashidzadeh, 49, a father of three originally from Qazvin who resided in Tehran, was executed at Yasuj Central Prison at dawn on October 7, 2026.

Rashidzadeh had been sentenced to death on drug-related charges four years earlier.

According to information received by Hengaw, his mother suffered a fatal stroke during her final visit with him on September 29, 2026, as a result of the emotional distress surrounding his impending execution.

His execution was temporarily postponed following his mother’s death but was ultimately carried out on October 7.

Iranian state media have not publicly reported the execution.
