It was reported Iran's judiciary drafted a bill which would raise the minimum age for death sentences to 18 from 15
It was reported Iran's judiciary drafted a bill which would raise the minimum age for death sentences to 18 from 15.
The proposed bill, which was be sent shortly to parliament, also excluded under 18s from receiving life jail terms or lashes, newspapers quoted Alireza Jamshidi, secretary of the Supreme Council for Judicial Development, as saying.
"The new law fully complies with Sharia law and modern judicial developments," the Yas-e No newspaper quoted Jamshidi as saying.
