It was reported that King Mohammed VI of Morocco pardoned more than 1,100 prisoners and detainees on the occasion of the Aid El Fitr holiday marking the end of the Ramadan (fasting) month. A total of 482 inmates benefited full pardon, the sentences of 646 prisoners were reduced while 16 prisoners awaiting capital punishment had their sentences commuted.
