It was reported that thirteen people convicted of violent crimes were executed in China's central Henan province.
The 13 criminals in Henan were executed immediately after a sentencing rally in the provincial capital Zhengzhou, in which 70 others suspected of violent crimes were also formally arrested and charged.
Among them was Li Heizi, 29, who was convicted of knifing a guard to death at a Henan labor camp in November 2003 and Wang Shunjie, 26, who killed a student in a drunken fight in February 2004.
