the Tokyo High Court, Japan, upheld a death sentence against a former gang member who was convicted of shooting dead five other gangsters in December 2003. Rejecting the appeal filed by Kaiichi Yamamoto, 59, Presiding Judge Fumihiro Abe said the defendant had carried two guns with 13 bullets and had killed the five mercilessly.
