Justice Itsuro Terada, presiding over the Japanese Supreme Court's Third Petty Bench, turned down the appeal by Katsumi Morita, 61. Morita was sentenced to death for killing four people in three robbery cases in 2002, including a 71-year-old dentist in Tokyo in September and the wife of a discount ticket shop operator in Abiko, Chiba Prefecture, in November.
