Miyagi, 49, had been convicted of shooting the men linked to a rival crime syndicate on April 25. There were no injuries to other diners or the restaurant staff.
Killed were Yasuhiro Hino, 45, a senior member of the rival crime syndicate, and Eiji Sato, 39, who ran a construction business. Public prosecutors had demanded Miyagi receive the death penalty on charges of murder and firearms control law violation.
