JORDAN. MAN RECEIVES DEATH SENTENCE FOR FATALLY POISONING FAMILY

according to the “Jordan Times”, a 28-year-old man was sentenced to death by the Criminal Court for the fatal poisoning of his nephews following family arguments over his engagement plans.

Ali. M., an unemployed Mafraq resident, was declared guilty by the tribunal of poisoning his nephews while at home on April 19, 2004. He was also convicted on four counts of attempted premeditated murder of his mother and three of his siblings. Court transcripts said the defendant wished to marry a woman a few months before the incident, but his family asked him to wait because they could not afford to pay for the wedding.
