JORDAN. PRISONERS PROTEST DEATH PENALTY

it was reported that sixteen prisoners in Jordan were on their ninth day of hunger strike to protest the death penalty.
A spokesman for the general security department said that the number of strikers had increased since five inmates first began it on July 12. The strikers are protesting the death sentences served against Khaled Maghamess and Khoder Abu Hoshar, convicted of terrorist action and of being al-Qaeda operatives.
