James Karuga Kamau, a 45 year old farmer, was sentenced to death after being convicted of murdering a teacher in Nairobi and dumping her body in a river.
Kamau was found guilty by the High Court in Nyeri. He was charged with the murder of Ms Susan Jean King, a Briton and a teacher at Peponi School on August 4, 2004, at Mathioya river in Kanyenyaini, Kangema. Ms King was on a fishing expedition with her family when the incident occurred.
