the wife of former Lands Commissioner Wilson Gachanja told the Kenyan Appellate Court that she was condemned to death eight years ago on unsupported evidence. Elizabeth Gitiri Gachanja was convicted and sentenced to death for financing the killers of businessman Lawrence Magondu. Gachanja further said the trial judge, Mr Justice Msagha Mbogholi, ignored her defence. The appellant, through lawyer Githu Muigai, told the court that no eyewitness testified during the trial. The hearing was adjourned to a later date.
